Intengo’s ideation is rooted in advice given by Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter: “An idea that can change the course of the company can come from anywhere.” The key to innovation, he says, is to be open to new ideas no matter where they come from. That’s why we use diverse participants to uncover hundreds of new ideas from outside your typical customer or employee groups.
We engage “the crowd” in a fast, fun, free-think exercise where participants offer ideas they believe will resonate with your target consumer. From new products to names, claims, taglines, problems consumers have in your category, and more, Intengo has uncovered hundreds – and sometimes thousands – of fresh, unexpected ideas for dozens of companies.

It’s great to have a large number of ideas, but it can be overwhelming – how do you decide what to do next?

Intengo’s idea filtering is a rapid-fire voting exercise, designed to help you understand the themes, words and more that are filtering to the top of your idea set, and those that are falling to the bottom. Powered by pairwise comparison, the crowd votes on the best of each random pair of concept ideas, and each idea gets a minimum of 100 voting opportunities. The results rank the ideas based on their likelihood to be selected as best when compared to any other in the consideration set.
With that knowledge, you can make decisions about concepts to develop a bit further in preparation for concept testing/screening.

Concept Screening & Testing

When it comes to human behavior, we often aren’t the best predictors of our own behavior. We tend to overstate our intentions based on inflated self-perception. Yet, when we ask a large group of people how they think we’ll behave (and we incent them to choose correctly), they can be extremely accurate in predicting our behavior.
With this in mind, our prediction markets evaluate how successful your concepts will be using:
- A diverse population of people, rather than a target audience.
- We ask participants to self-select based on their knowledge of your topic area.
- We incentivize them, with real bonuses, to make an accurate prediction.
Engaged participants are good participants. So, we encourage stronger participation through a game of online investing, and give them some “skin in the game” in the form of $1,000 virtual dollars to buy stocks in your concepts. If they make the correct predictions with their investments, they can win an additional reward (beyond their survey incentive) from Intengo!
